Winkie Truffle Dahlia is a favorite among cut flower growers, introduced by hybridizer John Menzel of Australia. It is celebrated for its unique, sophisticated dusty pink color and miniature decorative form, making it a reliable and charming addition to any cutting garden.
Characteristics:
Form:Formal Decorative (FD) or Miniature Decorative. The flowers have a tidy, symmetrical shape with tightly packed petals. It is often described as a miniature or small decorative variety.
Colour:Â Dusty Pink/Smokey Pink (Dark Pink Classification). A complex, moody, warm tone often described as "truffle-pink" or "dusty salmon pink" with rustic or subtle purple-ish undertones, giving it a unique, earthy elegance.
Bloom Size:Â M (Miniature) / BB (Small). The blooms are perfectly sized for bouquets, typically measuring up to 4 inches in diameter (under 120 mm).
Height:Â Medium to Short.8 Plants generally grow to about 3 to 4 feet (around 1 to 1.2m), with good, strong stems for cutting.
Performance:Â Prolific and Excellent Cutter. This variety is known to be a heavy producer, often one of the first and last to bloom each season. It yields lovely, long stems, making it a highly valued cut flower with a vase life of around 5 to 6 days.
