Treby Dainty was introduced by Peter Haslhofer (Austria) in 2014.
Characteristics:
Form: The official classification is Formal Decorative (FD). However, due to its small size and the tightly rolled, involute nature of its petals, it is very commonly described in the trade as having a Miniature Ball or Pompon shape. The blooms are neat, fully double, and possess the round, dense structure typically associated with ball forms.
Colour:
- Light Blend (LB): 'Treby Dainty' is classified as a Light Blend, featuring a beautiful combination of light hues.
- Color Palette: The base color is creamy white or blush/white, with the tips of the petals "tinged" or "blushed" with light to dark magenta, lavender, or purple. This creates a sweet, multi-toned effect that pairs well with various color palettes, particularly those featuring pinks, whites, and purples.
Bloom Size: Miniature (M): The small, dainty blooms measure approximately 2 to 3 inches (5 cm to 7.6 cm) in diameter. This size is perfect for wedding work, buttonholes, and filling out bouquets without overpowering other flowers.
Plant Height: Medium-to-Tall: The plant typically grows to a height of 3 to 4 feet (0.9 m to 1.2 m).
Performance:
- Exceptional Prolificacy: This variety is a highly favored cut flower, famous for being extremely floriferous (covering itself in blooms) and having a long blooming season.
- Stems: It produces long, strong, straight stems that make it excellent for cutting and arranging.
- Cut Flower Use: Due to its petite size and delicate coloration, it is a florist favorite, especially for wedding and event work.
- Growth Habit: The plant is sturdy and often produces multiple flowers per stem, even if not strictly disbudded.
- Tuber Production: Noted for being a very good tuber producer.
Please note that the listing is for one tuber.
