The Tahoma Kelli dahlia is a quiet and unassuming staple introduced by the legendary hybridizer Les Connell in 2010. It is widely celebrated by florists and wedding designers for its soft, romantic palette and exceptional vase life, making it a reliable "must-have" for pastel-themed arrangements.
- Color: Lavender (L) / White Blend. Features creamy white petals delicately brushed or splotched with a smoky, pale lavender. The color is "quiet" and feminine, often appearing as a soft blush that can shift slightly in intensity throughout the growing season.
- Form: Formal Decorative (FD). While technically classified as formal decorative, it is often described as "nearly-ball" due to its tight, rounded, and symmetrical shape. ADS Classification: 4008.
- Bloom Size: Miniature (M). Produces uniform, perfectly sized blooms typically ranging from 3 to 4 inches (7.5–10 cm) in diameter.
- Height: Medium to Tall. A vigorous grower that typically reaches 3 to 4.5 feet (90–135 cm) in height.
- Performance: Highly Productive Florist Favorite. Praised for being a "powerhouse" in the cutting garden, it yields an abundance of flowers on long, straight, and strong stems. It is noted for its fantastic vase life and steady production from summer until frost, though some growers recommend starting tubers indoors as they can be slow to wake up.
