Skeena Shan

The Skeena Shan dahlia is a dramatic and rich variety bred by Meg Hoole of Medeek Meadows in Terrace, BC. Named in honor of a local friend who loves gardening and bold colors, this variety is a standout for those who appreciate moody, deep tones in their floral designs.

• Color: Dark Red (DR). Features intense, dark red petals that can develop a beautiful, weathered "antique patina" as the blooms mature in the garden.
• Form: Formal Decorative (FD). A classic, fully double bloom with neatly layered, flat petals that create a symmetrical and polished appearance.
• Bloom Size: Miniature (M). The blooms typically measure approximately 3 inches (7.5 cm) in diameter, making them an excellent "accent" size for moody or dramatic bouquets.
• Height: Tall. Grows to approximately 4 feet (120 cm) tall by the end of the season, producing a vigorous plant with strong, reliable stems.
• Performance: Excellent Cut Flower. Known for being extremely floriferous and blooming early in the season (starting in July). It is highly valued for its long stems and productive nature, consistently churning out flowers that add depth to dark-colored arrangements.
