The Seabeck’s Shirley dahlia is a luminous and cheerful variety introduced by hybridizers D & W Brant in 2014. It is widely adored for its unique "stellar" shape and a radiant, sunset-like color palette that appears to glow in the garden, making it a standout choice for both exhibition and vibrant summer bouquets.
- Color: Light Blend (LB) / Yellow & Orange. A brilliant "sorbet" blend featuring a clear yellow center that bleeds into warm apricot, melon, and peachy-orange tones. In cooler weather, the petals can develop delicate pink undertones at the tips.
- Form: Stellar (ST). Characterized by narrow, pointed petals that are often slightly spaced, giving the bloom a star-like, architectural appearance. ADS Classification: 7010.
- Bloom Size: Small (BB) or Miniature. Most blooms reach approximately 3.5 to 4 inches (9–10 cm) in diameter, offering a delicate but high-impact presence.
- Height: Tall. Reaches a height of 4 to 4.5 feet (120–135 cm). It features strong, dark green foliage that provides a beautiful contrast to the bright blooms.
- Performance: High-Volume Producer. Known for being an early and prolific bloomer that "doesn't stop" once it starts. Its long, sturdy stems and exceptional "glow" make it a favorite for florists looking to add a pop of warmth to seasonal arrangements.
