Sandia Shomei

The Sandia Shomei dahlia is a serene and ethereal variety introduced in 2001 by hybridizers Steve and Sandy Boley of Birch Bay Dahlias. It is widely admired for its "fairy garden" aesthetic and its clean, cool-toned palette, making it a favorite for modern floral design.

• Color: Lavender (L). A soft, clear lavender or light purple that maintains a crisp, "cool" appearance. Some blooms may feature a subtle creamy-yellow hint at the center.
• Form: Waterlily (WL). Known for its perfectly symmetrical, slightly cupped petals that create a floating, graceful effect.
• ADS Classification: 7308 (Small Waterlily, Lavender) or sometimes listed as 7380.
• Bloom Size: Small (BB) or Waterlily. Flowers typically range from 4 to 5 inches (10–12.5 cm) in diameter.
• Height: Tall. A vigorous grower that typically reaches 4 to 5 feet (120–150 cm) tall, though it can reach up to 6 feet in some field conditions.
• Performance: Excellent Cut and Exhibition Flower. Celebrated for its high-fashion look and strong, upright stems that are ideal for arranging. It is a reliable producer that is often featured in "Legacy" collections due to its enduring popularity and show-worthy form.
