Sandia Rose

The Sandia Rose dahlia is an undeniably sweet and wistfully beautiful variety introduced in 2011 by the renowned hybridizing team Steve and Sandy Boley of Birch Bay Dahlias. A standout in the waterlily category, it is celebrated for its "dahlia charisma" and its ability to hold its perfectly formed blooms for a long time on the plant.

• Color: Pink (PK) / Dark Pink (DP). A soft, luminous pink with a glowing yellow center. The color is noted for its exquisite depth, which can fade to a perfect dusty pink as the season progresses into fall.
• Form: Waterlily (WL). Features shallow, cupped blooms with broad, gracefully arranged petals that create a floating, symmetrical effect.
• ADS Classification: 7305 (Small Waterlily, Pink).
• Bloom Size: Small (BB). Blossoms typically measure 4 to 5 inches (10–12.5 cm) in diameter.
• Height: Medium to Tall. Growth reports range from 2.5 to 4 feet (75–120 cm) tall. It features a perfect branching habit and strong, long stems.
• Performance: Spectacular Garden and Cut Flower. It is highly prolific and reliable, often cited as an "it girl" in trial gardens. Its blooms have a long vase life and are supported by long, strong stems, making it a favorite for both exhibition and high-end floral design.
