Sandia Brocade Dahlia is a captivating anemone-form variety introduced by Steve and Sandy Boley of Birch Bay Dahlias (US) and introduced around 2016.

Characteristics:

Form: Anemone (AN). It features a ring of flat outer petals that reflex back (apricot-pink or rose-gold) surrounding a prominent, densely packed, textural center, or "pouff," of tubular, fringed petals

Color: Golden-Orange to Apricot-Pink/Cantaloupe. It has a warm, sometimes bronze or rose-gold, tone. Its unique coloring adds a beautiful iridescent or pearly sheen

Bloom Size: Miniature (M) to BB (Small). Generally ranges from 3–4 inches (8-10 cm)

Height: 3–4 feet (36–48 inches or 90–100 cm)

Performance:

  • Highly Prolific and a good long-lasting bloomer.
  • Vase Life: As an Anemone-form dahlia, its vase life is typical for this type: 3–5 days. It is often considered an "event flower" rather than a variety that lasts a week.
  • Stems: It is noted to grow on nice stems for cutting
  • Harvesting Tip: For Anemone forms, it's best to harvest when blooms are three-quarters of the way open or with multiple flowers at different stages of opening to maximize vase life.
