Sandia Bertha is a dramatic waterlily-form variety introduced in 2023 by Steve and Sandy Boley of Birch Bay Dahlias (US).
Characteristics:
Form: Waterlily (WL). It has a delicate waterlily form with layered, slightly ruffled petals.
Color: Brilliant Purple/Deep Magenta/Dark Fuchsia. The color is a captivating, intense shade. While officially classified as deep burgundy or purple, many growers describe it as a "stunningly brilliant purple" or "electrically vibrant" deep magenta, giving it a "sassy" and "moody" character.
Bloom Size: BB (Small) to B (Medium). Reported bloom sizes range from 4 inches up to 6–7 inches (15–18 cm).
Height: 4–5 feet (48–60 inches or 120–150 cm). It is a tall, robust grower.
Performance:
- Producer: It is noted as a great producer of blooms, ensuring a steady supply for cutting.
