Peaches n Cream is a highly popular, award-winning miniature formal decorative variety introduced in 1993 by the American hybridizer Blue DG.
Characteristics:
Form: It is formally registered as a Formal Decorative (FD) dahlia. This means the petals are flat, smooth, regularly arranged, and recurve toward the stem, creating a symmetrical, perfectly rounded bloom.
Color: The color is a "peachy orange with white tips" or "soft salmon petals that fade to white at the tips." This distinct, sharp separation of two colors—peach/salmon (OR) and white (W)—is the definition of a Bicolor (BI) dahlia.
Bloom Size: Most ADS-related sources classify it as "Miniature," noting a bloom size of up to 4 inches (or 3.5"-4"). Some growers may list it larger (5") for cutting, but the official ADS class is M.
Height: Tall, generally ranging from 4 to 5 feet (120–150 cm).
Performance: A favorite among florists and cut flower enthusiasts for its long, strong stems, prolific blooming, and excellent vase life (often exceeding the average dahlia). Its dreamy, watercolor-like coloring makes it a perfect addition to wedding and soft-palette arrangements.
A must-have!
