The Mellum Nina dahlia is an exquisite and highly coveted variety bred by Theo Beenders of Mt Mellum, Australia. Often described as a "unicorn" by growers, it is celebrated for its ethereal, porcelain-like blooms and nearly perfect exhibition form—making it a grand champion on the show bench and a favorite for high-end floral design.

  • Color: Pink / Blush Light Blend (LB). Features a delicate, baby-pink blush that often appears as a soft lilac-pink blend, resembling a fluffy scoop of strawberry ice cream with a luminous, creamy center.
  • Form: Miniature Decorative (MSD/FD). Boasts fully double, symmetrical blooms packed with tons of petals that rarely blow open, maintaining their tight structure until the last petal unfurls. ADS Classification: 4010 (Miniature Decorative Light Blend) or similar.
  • Bloom Size: Miniature to Small. Flowers typically reach approximately 3 to 4.5 inches (8–11 cm) in diameter, offering a refined size perfect for detailed cut flower work.
