Luan dahlia is a "super unique" and highly sought-after dahlia, often described as a "unicorn" by collectors for its rare, calico-like appearance. Hybridized by Stefan Seufert in Germany and introduced around 2013-2020, it is celebrated for its whimsical, "goldfish-inspired" blooms where no two flowers are ever exactly alike—adding a playful and artistic splash to both gardens and floral arrangements. 

• Color: Bicolor (BI) / Calico. A stunning mix of orange, peach, and coral tones splashed over a creamy-ivory base. Some blooms may even feature occasional "freak" red petals, mimicking the vibrant patterns of a Japanese koi fish. 
• Form: Formal Decorative (FD) or Ball. Features neatly organized, symmetrical petals that create a dense, rounded silhouette; it is frequently classified as a Ball type by specialty growers due to its tight structure. ADS Classification: 3015.
• Bloom Size: Small (BB). These detailed and impactful blooms typically measure between 4 to 6 inches (10–15 cm) in diameter. 
• Height: Tall. A robust and vigorous grower that typically reaches 4 to 5 feet (120–150 cm) in height, producing its unique flowers on long, sturdy stems that are excellent for cutting. 
• Performance: Abundant and Productive. Praised for its high-energy performance, it "pumps out loads of gorgeous flowers" all season long on strong, upright stems. It is noted for its great vase life (lasting 5-6 days) and its reputation as a reliable tuber producer, making it a rewarding variety for both hobbyists and flower farmer
