The Lee's Unicorn Eye dahlia (often referred to as Lee's Unicorn Eyes) is an ethereal and high-performing variety hybridized by Lee Hemmings Carlton of Goldenrod Gardens and introduced in 2024. It is celebrated for its unique, glowing contrast, exceptional productivity, and "perfection" in form—making it a sophisticated favorite for both wedding work and high-end floral design.

  • Color: Lavender (L) / Silvery White. Features creamy, silvery-white to extremely pale lavender petals that provide a stark, luminous contrast against its dark purple centers. The dark "eye" is most prominent in new blooms and gradually fades as the flower matures.
  • Form: Decorative (Dec). Boasts full, perfectly symmetrical blooms with a 10/10 connection and bloom angle.
  • ADS Classification: M FD L (Miniature Formal Decorative Lavender).
  • Bloom Size: Miniature (M). Small and uniform blooms typically measure between 2.5 to 3 inches (6–7.5 cm) in diameter.
  • Height: Tall. A vigorous grower that reaches an average height of 5 to 5.5 feet (150–165 cm).
  • Performance: Prolific Cut Flower. Praised as one of the most productive varieties available, it "pumps out" flawless blooms on long, strong, dark purple stems. It is also noted for being easy to propagate and having striking dark foliage that adds ornamental value to the garden.
