Lee’s Sugaree Dahlia is bred by Lee Hemmings Carlton

Characteristics:

Form: Informal Decorative (ID) — The blooms are fully double with a high petal count. The petals are broad, slightly ruffled, and irregularly arranged, giving the flower a lush, soft, and voluminous appearance.

Color: Light Blend (LB) / Yellow Blend (YB) / Apricot — The color palette is one of its most alluring features, a complex, pastel light blend:

  • Blend: A dynamic mix of apricot, peach, soft pink, and golden-yellow, often appearing as a luminous, ethereal sunset glow.
  • Variation: The color intensity shifts; newer petals can show more pink and apricot, while older petals often soften to creamy peach and pale gold.

Bloom Size: Medium (B) / Small (BB) — Most commonly reported as a BB (Small) to B (Medium), with blooms typically sized between 5 and 6 inches (12.5–15 cm) in diameter.

Height: Tall, frequently growing between 5 and 5.5 feet (150–165 cm).

Performance: Highly valued as an exceptional cut flower variety. It is noted for its incredibly long, dark, and sturdy stems that hold the voluminous blooms perfectly, making them easy to harvest and excellent for high-end floral design. It is a vigorous grower and a prolific bloomer, providing multiple flushes of high-quality flowers throughout the season.

Please note that the listing is for one rooted cutting.
