Lee's Pineberry Trifle dahlia is a hauntingly beautiful and romantic variety hybridized by Lee Hemmings Carlton of Goldenrod Gardens and introduced in 2023. It is celebrated for its unique "blush-berry" blend, long stems, and reliable early-season performance—making it a favorite for both garden displays and vintage-inspired floral arrangements.
- Color: Bicolor (BI). A striking strawberry-pink base that fades into creamy white petal tips. The intensity of the contrast often shifts with the weather, pulling forward deeper berry tones in the heat and developing more distinct "frosted" white tips in cooler temperatures.
- Form: Formal Decorative (FD). A well-formed, fully double bloom with petals that lay flat or slightly recurve toward the stem. ADS Classification: BB FD BI (Small Formal Decorative Bicolor).
- Bloom Size: Small (BB). Blooms are typically around 4 inches (10 cm) in diameter, offering a sturdy and photogenic size that works well as both a focal and a companion flower
- Height: Tall. Grows to approximately 4.5 to 5 feet (135–150 cm) tall
- Performance: Early and Consistent Bloomer. Known for its excellent bloom attachment (no floppy heads) and long, slender stems. It is a productive variety that starts blooming early in the season and continues to throw high-quality, vase-ready stems until the first frost.
