The Lee's Jonquil dahlia is a whimsical and charming variety introduced by breeder Lee Carlton of Goldenrod Gardens (USA) in 2023. It’s celebrated for its unique resemblance to thin daffodils, its delicate apricot hue, and its playful personality—making it a perfect "supporting friend" to larger focal flowers in airy, textural floral designs.
- Color: Yellow-Apricot / Peach. A sweet, warm apricot hue that glows with soft golden undertones. The blooms often feature multiple green bracteoles (leaf-like structures) behind the petals, adding to their botanical, daffodil-like charm.
- Form: Waterlily (WL). Features a small, open-faced form with layers of petals that mimic the elegance of a waterlily or a wild jonquil. ADS Classification: M WL OR (Miniature Waterlily Orange).
- Bloom Size: Miniature (M). Dainty and petite blooms that are consistently small, typically measuring 2 to 3.5 inches (5–9 cm) in diameter.
- Height: Medium/Tall. Reaches an average height of approximately 4 to 4.5 feet (120–135 cm).
- Performance: Whimsical Textural Element. Praised for its ability to add movement and a "cute" factor to bouquets, especially when used partially open. It is a reliable bloomer that produces multiple flushes throughout the season on slender, manageable stems.
