Island View Moon

The Island View Moon dahlia is a radiant and cheerful variety, hybridized by Barry and Mary Willoughby in Canada. Known for its tall, stately presence and sunny disposition, it is a favorite for adding vertical interest and a burst of light to late-summer garden borders. 

• Color: Yellow (Y). A bright, clear lemon-yellow that remains vibrant and consistent throughout the blooming season, mimicking the soft glow of a full moon.
• Form: Formal Decorative (FD). Characterized by uniform, flat ray florets that are regularly arranged and tend to recurve slightly toward the stem. ADS Classification: BB-FD-Y.
• Bloom Size: Small (BB). Flowers typically range from 4 to 6 inches (10–15 cm) in diameter, offering a substantial presence without being overly heavy.
• Height: Tall. An impressive grower that reaches a mature height of approximately 5 feet (150 cm), often requiring sturdy staking to support its height and abundant blooms.
• Performance: Vigorous Garden Performer. Praised for its robust growth and prolific blooming habit; its long, strong stems and sunny color make it an excellent choice for large-scale floral arrangements and exhibition.
