Hy Bee Gee

The Hy Bee Gee dahlia (often listed as Hy Bee G) is a charming and reliable variety introduced in 2022 by the renowned Canadian hybridizer Wayne Holland. Named in honor of Vancouver Dahlia Society member Betty Girard, it is celebrated for its warm, sun-kissed coloring and exceptional structure—a perfect addition to any cottage garden or professional cutting patch. 

• Color: Bronze (BR) / Orange Blend. A radiant, golden-apricot or soft bronze hue that glows in the late summer light, often showing deeper orange or copper tones at the center of the bloom.
• Form: Ball (BA). Features perfectly symmetrical, tightly packed petals that form a neat, spherical globe. ADS Classification: 6011.
• Bloom Size: Small (BB) or Ball. Blooms typically measure around 3.5 to 4 inches (9–10 cm) in diameter.
• Height: Tall. A vigorous grower that reaches a mature height of approximately 4 to 5 feet (120–150 cm) on an upright, sturdy plant.
• Performance: Productive Cut Flower. Noted for its excellent stem length and strength, this variety is a reliable "workhorse" that produces a high volume of flowers throughout the season, holding its shape and color exceptionally well in vases.
