Henriette is a popular and elegant variety cherished by cut flower growers for its beautiful coloring and strong garden performance.

Characteristics:

Form: Semi-Cactus (SC) to Incurved Cactus (IC). The petals are rolled or quilled for at least half their length, giving the bloom a spiky yet soft, textural look with a slight inward curve.

Color: Salmon-Pink Blend (LB - Light Blend or S/PK).

The blooms are a vibrant yet delicate salmon-pink or peach-pink, which often fades to a softer cream or pale yellow toward the pointed tips of the petals. The overall effect is often described as "sparkling" or having a "smoky pink" look, especially when set against its often dark stems.

Bloom Size: Small (BB) to Medium (B), typically 4 to 6 inches (10 to 15 cm) across.

Height: Medium to Tall, reaching about 3 to 4 feet (90–120 cm).

Performance:

  • Excellent Cut Flower: 'Henriette' is highly prized by florists for wedding work and bouquets. Its soft, romantic colours blend beautifully with nearly any palette.
  • Strong Stems: It produces blooms on strong, long stems that hold the flowers straight and upright, making it easy to harvest and arrange.
  • Weather-Resistant: This variety is known to be quite weather-resistant and the blooms hold their shape and appeal well, even maturing gracefully on the plant.
  • Ages Well: Many growers note that 'Henriette' is a dahlia that actually improves with age, holding its form and charm longer than many other varieties.
