Florelie Origami

The Florelie Origami dahlia is a unique and striking new variety released in 2025 by Australian breeder Lorelie Merton of Florelie Seasonal Flowers. It is named for its distinctive petal structure, which gives the appearance of intricate, folded paper. 

• Color: Magenta with Pale Reverse. A deep magenta-toned dahlia featuring a contrasting pale reverse on the petals. This bicolored effect is what creates the "folded paper" look.
• Form: Miniature Decorative (M FD). A symmetrical, fully double bloom with a sturdy, shrub-like habit.
• Bloom Size: Miniature. Compact blooms that are often quite upward facing, providing an impressive display in the garden.
• Height: Mid-Height. It typically grows into a sturdy, self-supporting shrub-like plant that does not require heavy staking or corralling on the breeder's farm.
• Performance: Garden & Display Standout. While it has a long vase life, it is recommended more as a garden/display variety than for commercial cut flowers because the stems can be quite thick. It is a late bloomer, starting later in the season but covering the plant in a mass of blooms once it begins.
