The Finch's Cornman dahlia is a stunning and exclusive new variety released for 2026 by American hybridizer Alexandra Finch of Finch Florals, introduced through the Triple Wren Farms Novice Hybridizer Program. Discovered and cultivated at Zingerman's Cornman Farms in Michigan, it is celebrated for its "magical" ability to bridge smoky, moody.
- Color: Smoky Mauve / Rosy-Pink. A multi-tonal masterpiece described as a "perfect bridge" between smoky mauve and pink. It features a lavender, plummy, or raspberry base with an ombré effect as the petals mature. In autumn, the color often shifts toward a lighter salmon tone with gold tips.
- Form: Formal Decorative (FD). While some early listings describe it as Informal Decorative, it is primarily noted for its perfectly symmetrical, formal decorative shape with petals that reflex all the way back to the stem.
- Bloom Size: Small (BB). Lavish blooms typically range from 4 to 5 inches (10–12.5 cm) in diameter, making them ideal for both garden displays and bridal bouquets.
- Height: Tall. A vigorous and robust grower reaching approximately 4 to 4.5 feet (120–135 cm) tall.
- Performance: Early and Productive Workhorse. Highly praised for being an early bloomer that remains steady throughout the season. It produces strong, long, dark stems with an excellent bloom angle, though early-season flowers may occasionally show a "green eye" before progressing to fully closed centers.
