The Ferncliff Pincushion dahlia is a unique and charming variety introduced in 2025 by David Jack of Ferncliff Gardens in British Columbia, Canada. It is celebrated for its distinctive "pincushion" texture and its role as a "charming workhorse" in both garden borders and cut flower arrangements.
- Color: Soft Light Pink / Lavender. Features delicate, pale pink or lavender petals that deepen in color toward the center. Early-season blooms may occasionally show a slight green center.
- Form: Informal Decorative (ID) / Laciniated. A fully double bloom with layers of delicately ruffled and notched petals that create a textured, fringed appearance.
- Bloom Size: Miniature (M). Perfectly formed blooms typically range from 3 to 4 inches (7.5–10 cm) in diameter.
- Height: Medium to Tall. A vigorous grower that reaches approximately 3.5 to 5 feet (105–150 cm) tall.
- Performance: Productive Cut Flower. Known for being an early and prolific bloomer with an upright growth habit. It is a reliable tuber producer and features strong stems that provide excellent movement in bouquets.
