Ferncliff Kathleen is a recent introduction bred by Ferncliff Gardens in British Columbia, this variety is celebrated for its symmetry, strong stems, and prolific flowering—perfect for cutting gardens, wedding work, and richly toned compositions.
Characteristics:
Form: Ball (BA). It has a tight, perfectly rounded, symmetrical form with tightly packed petals that give it a honeycomb-like texture.
Color: Deep Pink / Warm Coral Blend. Described as a beautiful blend of deep pink hues, smoky pink, or a warm coral ball dahlia with a subtle rosy-pink hue. The darker centre and subtle rosy-red reverse side of the petals gives the bloom an attractive ombre look.
Bloom Size: Small/Miniature Ball, typically 2.5 to 4 inches (6–10 cm) in diameter. Often listed as 3 inches.
Height: Medium to Tall, usually between 3.5 to 4 feet (105–120 cm).
Performance: Highly valued as an elegant cut flower with a long vase life and strong stems, making it a top choice for wedding bouquets and arrangements. It is a prolific bloomer.
