Ferncliff Copper

The Ferncliff Copper dahlia is an award-winning exhibition variety and a true "colorful classic" introduced by David Jack of Ferncliff Gardens in 1990. It is highly prized for its glowing, ombre tones and sturdy plant habit—making it an essential "workhorse" for large-scale wedding installations and autumn floral design.

• Color: Bronze (BR). A striking, smoldering ombre that shifts from soft peach and apricot to rich copper-orange with creamy "creamsicle" highlights.
• Form: Formal Decorative (FD). Features exceptionally neat, even petal placement that creates a dense, sturdy bloom often described as "ball-like" in structure.
• ADS Classification: 3011 (Small, Formal Decorative, Bronze).
• Bloom Size: Small (BB). Large, upward-facing blooms typically measure between 4 and 6 inches (10–15 cm) in diameter.
