Emperor is a decorative bloom that is widely offered and is believed to have been introduced in the mid-to-late 20th century as a classic dark variety.
Color: Dark Purple to Medium Purple. It features a rich, deep, velvety purple hue, sometimes with lavender or blue-purple undertones, and no visible central disc.
Form: Semi-Cactus (SC) or Informal Decorative (ID). It has a full, dramatic form with semi-spiky petals that are often slightly rolled, giving it a velvety and rich appearance.
Bloom Size: Medium to Large (B/BB). Blooms are typically described as being 5 to 6 inches (12–15 cm) in diameter, making it a substantial cut flower.
Height: Medium-Tall, generally reaching 3 to 4 feet (90–120 cm) tall on strong, dark green foliage.
Performance: A highly recommended cut flower due to its rich color, impressive size, and strong, straight stems. Its dramatic color is excellent for bouquets and garden contrast.
