The Coorabell Amy dahlia is a standout "smoky" variety within the celebrated Australian series bred by the Wedd family in New South Wales. Often cited by growers as a "top 5" favorite, it is renowned for its unique color-shifting petals, impressive stature, and superior stem quality.

  • Color: Smoky Pink / Mauve with Gold Tips. Features a complex, muted pink hue that can range from a warm watermelon to a soft peachy-rose depending on the light and temperature. Its petals are often finished with a subtle, glowing golden picotee edge.
  • Form: Medium Decorative (M Dec). A lush, fully double bloom with beautifully layered petals and a closed, reliable center that holds up well even late in the season.
  • Bloom Size: Small to Medium (BB/B). Typically produces flowers approximately 6 inches (150–160 mm) in diameter.
  • Height: Very Tall / Towering. A vigorous plant that frequently reaches 5.5 to 6.5 feet (170–200 cm) tall. Due to its height, it requires heavy-duty staking and support.
  • Performance: Prolific Cut Flower "Gold." Noted for being a "floriferous queen," it pumps out blooms on exceptionally long, strong, and straight stems with excellent head attachment. It is one of the earliest to start flowering and the last to finish in many gardens.
