The Chimacum Nadjae dahlia is a charming and highly productive variety introduced by David and Leone Smith (Chimacum & Valley Dahlias) in 2009. It is widely celebrated as a "workhorse" for its ability to pump out an abundance of glowing, sunset-toned blooms on strong stems throughout the entire summer.
- Color: Dark Pink (DP) / Coral. A vibrant, "sorbet" blend featuring deep coral and tangerine tones with a warm yellow heart. As the season progresses, the petal edges can fade to a soft, almost white shade.
- Form: Formal Decorative (FD). A tidy, symmetrical bloom with broad, flat petals that are neatly layered. While some sources describe it as a "ball" type, its official classification is Formal Decorative.
- ADS Classification: 4005. A miniature, formal decorative dahlia in a dark pink color category.
- Bloom Size: Miniature (M). Perfectly sized for market bouquets, with blooms typically reaching 3 to 4 inches (7.5–10 cm) in diameter.
- Height: Medium to Tall. A vigorous plant that typically grows between 3 to 5 feet (90–150 cm) tall depending on field conditions.
- Performance: Highly Productive Workhorse. Renowned for its prolific blooming and excellent tuber production. It produces long, strong stems ideal for cutting, though growers recommend cutting deep and frequent to maintain stem length all season.
