The Chimacum Davi dahlia is a whimsical and high-performing variety lovingly bred by David and Leone Smith (Chimacum & Valley Dahlias) of Tacoma, Washington. It is widely celebrated as a favorite of renowned flower farmers, such as Erin Benzakein of Floret Flower Farm.
- Color: Pink (PK) / Blush. Features perfectly pearlescent, creamy-white blooms with a soft pink center. The outer petal edges are delicately brushed with a darker pink or lavender-pink, creating a "blushing" effect.
- Form: Miniature Ball (MB). A tight, impeccable ball shape with petals that unfurl into tiny tubules, spiraling symmetrically from the center to the back. ADS Classification: 6104.
- Bloom Size: Miniature (M). Spherical, "ping-pong ball" sized blooms typically measuring 2 to 3.5 inches (5–9 cm) in diameter.
- Height: Tall. A vigorous grower that typically reaches 3.5 to 4.5 feet (105–135 cm) tall, though some growers report it staying slightly shorter in certain climates.
- Performance: Highly Productive Cut Flower. Praised as a "stalwart" and a "prodigious flowerer" that produces an abundance of blooms all season. Its long, strong stems and excellent vase life make it a versatile favorite for market bouquets and floral design.
