Brown Sugar

The Brown Sugar dahlia is a "sultry sweetheart" of the garden, introduced by Bisschops in 2002. It is highly prized for its rich, autumnal tones and exceptionally sturdy stems, making it a "workhorse" favorite for florists and garden designers creating moody fall bouquets. 

• Color: Bronze (BR) / Dark Blend. A warm, decadent medley of rusty orange, copper, and deep caramel. The petals often feature a deeper brick-red or burnt-toffee glow at the center, softening to a warm terracotta on the outer edges as they age.
• Form: Ball (BA). Features perfectly symmetrical, sculptural globes with tightly packed, slightly rolled petals. ADS Classification: 6011.
• Bloom Size: Small or Miniature Ball (BA/MB). Blossoms typically range from 3 to 4 inches (7.5–10 cm) in diameter.
• Height: Medium to Tall. A vigorous, upright grower that typically reaches 3 to 4.5 feet (90–135 cm) tall.
• Performance: Prolific & Weather-Resistant. Known for its "massive" blooming from midsummer until the first frost. It is celebrated for its perfectly straight, strong stems and excellent vase life, making it a reliable staple for market bouquets and autumn weddings.
