The Brookside Snowball dahlia is a timeless and elegant variety introduced in 1976 by hybridizer J.W.T. Hurt. It is widely celebrated for its clean, "milky vanilla" tones and symmetrical form, making it an essential choice for wedding work and classic garden borders.

  • Color: White (W). A pristine, crisp white that often features a soft creamy or "vanilla" center. Occasionally, some growers note a very subtle yellow or blush hint in the heart of the bloom.
  • Form: Formal Decorative (FD). While historically often associated with or classified as a ball dahlia, its current formal classification is decorative, featuring neatly layered, flat petals with a symmetrical, full-bodied structure. ADS Classification: 3001.
  • Bloom Size: Small (BB). Blossoms typically measure between 4 to 6 inches (10–15 cm) in diameter.
  • Height: Medium to Tall. Reaches a sturdy garden height between 3.5 to 5 feet (105–150 cm).
  • Performance: Reliable Exhibition & Cut Flower. Known for being a prolific, "tried and true" bloomer on long, exceptionally strong stems. It is an outstanding show winner and is favored by florists for its durability and high productivity throughout the season.
