BQ Pinwheel

The BQ Pinwheel (Bloomquist Pinwheel) dahlia is a mesmerizing and high-energy variety introduced by Paul Bloomquist in 2021. It is celebrated for its dynamic, star-like form and its "electric" fuchsia tones that create a sense of motion in the garden and in floral arrangements.

• Color: Lavender (L) / Fuchsia-Purple. While officially classified as lavender, the blooms present as a bold, saturated dragon-fruit pink or fuchsia. The petals often feature darker backs, adding depth and a "swirling" visual effect.
• Form: Stellar (ST). Characterized by long, pointed petals that are narrow at the base and arranged in a distinct, star-like pattern. ADS Classification: 7008.
• Bloom Size: Small (BB) or Miniature (M). Blossoms typically measure approximately 4 inches (10 cm) in diameter.
• Height: Medium to Tall. A vigorous grower that reaches between 3.5 to 5.5 feet (105–165 cm) tall, depending on the field conditions.
• Performance: Strong & Early Bloomer. Known for being a reliable "workhorse" that starts blooming early in the season and continues well past many other varieties. It features dark green foliage that contrasts beautifully with the vivid blooms and is highly praised for its strong, sturdy stems that are excellent for cutting.
