Apricot Desire is a popular and cheerful dahlia cultivar, widely admired for its rich, warm coloring that evokes the soft glow of a sunset.

Characteristics:

Form: Ball (BA) / Miniature Ball (MB) — It is most accurately classified as a Miniature Ball dahlia. The petals are tightly rolled, blunt at the tip, and arranged in spiral patterns to form a dense, globe-like bloom.

Colour: Orange Blend (OB) / Apricot — The color is the dahlia's most captivating feature, exhibiting a beautiful gradient of warm, mixed tones:

  •  Base Color: A luminous, soft apricot-orange or peach that covers the majority of the bloom.
  • Accents: The center (or heart) of the bloom often features deeper tones of burnt orange, terracotta, or bronze, while the outer, older petals can sometimes fade to a delicate, creamy-pink or pale buttercup yellow.
  • Overall Effect: The blend creates a sophisticated, multi-tonal apricot hue that is dynamic and changes subtly with the light and age of the bloom.

Bloom Size: Small (BB) / Miniature Ball (MB) — Blooms are consistently sized between 3 and 4 inches (7.5–10 cm) in diameter, making them ideal for mixed bouquets and smaller arrangements.

Height: Medium, typically growing between 3 and 3.5 feet (90–105 cm) tall.

Performance: Highly regarded as an excellent cut flower due to its sturdy stems, reliable productivity, and long vase life. Its appealing color is highly versatile for wedding work and general arrangements. It is known to be an exceptionally prolific bloomer, producing an abundance of blooms throughout the season
